After 6 years in The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, working as an Infantry Soldier and Army Physical Training Instructor, I left with a van full of bootcamp equipment and started taking sessions in West Park – Macclesfield.

My vans gear box went so I sold it (had no cash to fix it) and moved the kit into a local mill… I got the opportunity to rent a room for £40 a week, which I couldn’t afford (as I couldn’t afford the rent on my flat either), but I knew I would get clients if I had my own private facility… Sometimes you’ve got to take the leap and grow your wings on the way down.

I cleared the room and made it look half decent. However, it was a fair few months before I got many clients, but once I did, luckily my PT really took off… The key is to have confidence in what you are doing, and keep pushing and pushing!

Got the opportunity to open the current gym with help from some amazing people and now we are half way through year 2.

Looking forward to some huge growth this year, especially now I have a busy publishing schedule with my books… It’s long days, but it is all going to be worth it!

It’s the members which make the gym… And the 5S members are awesome!
