The standard gym setup is around 55% cardio machines and about 45% resistance machines (10-15% of which might be free weights).

There is usually picture descriptions on the machines, but rarely any coaching on how to use free weight equipment (the stuff that facilitates optimal physical development).

Ultimately commercial gyms (The “C” Word), are set up primarily as leisure facilities, rather than training facilities (and that’s fine). Simply put, they make training easier and more accessible (it doesn’t take much coaching to sit on a machine).

Whereas at 5S Fitness, we have designed our gym as a training facility, and coaching is our passion.

The question:

What is the best way to make people (of varying ability levels) fitter and stronger?

Answer:

Training is never going to be perfect, but we aspire to it by having highly experienced coaches take properly programmed strength and conditioning sessions.

When you turn up for a strength class, you are going to be taken through barbell training that has been designed by coaches who have worked with elite level athletes, and they will tailor this programming to suit your every need and goal.

When you turn up for a conditioning class, you will be taken through high intensity circuit training that has been designed to work your whole body (muscular and cardio-respiratory system). However, the coach will ensure the whole session is tailored to suit your needs.

We are not in the business of selling you a “6 week transformation” or a “3 week summer booty challenge”… We are in the business of educating you on what is the most effective way to train.

It’s all about health and performance, LONG-TERM… Not silly fitness industry marketing, that is just trying to make a sale.
