Our body adapts to the world around us and unfortunately for a large number of us, our worlds involve an extremely sedentary lifestyle.
That’s where for a lot of us the gym comes into play, however an hour on a Treadmill/Crosstrainer or hopping from one resistance machine to another is often not enough to compete with a day spent sitting at a desk and a modern diet which allows us to excess on so many high sugar foods.
Increasing the intensity of our training will help to increase our Basal Metabolic Rate throughout the day (The rate at which we burn fat at rest) whilst also increasing lean muscle gains (Resulting in an even higher Basal Metabolic Rate)… However a problem that can result from working so hard in the gym is that sometimes we can feel “we have done our bit” and therefore our overall activity levels throughout the day can reduce… It is vital to capatalize on the increase in metabolic rate and keep up your daily activity levels. (Just walking up the stairs, round the office or to the shops is enough to make a difference.)
Give your body a reason to adapt!
